Using Safari and Chrome Home-Screen Shortcuts for Faster Tokless Access

You do not need an app. A home-screen shortcut opens the tool at one tap, without a full-screen browser chrome or an install step.

If you use the same page more than once a week, you should not be typing its URL every time. Both iOS and Android let you drop a real launch icon on the home screen from any web page. Two taps for setup, zero installs, one tap after that.

Why bother

A home-screen icon opens the page in a slightly stripped chrome — no address bar, no tab bar on iOS — which makes the workflow feel closer to a small app. You are still using the browser underneath, so downloads land where they normally land and privacy behavior does not change.

iOS Safari

  1. Open the Tokless homepage in Safari.
  1. Tap the Share button.
  1. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen.
  1. Confirm the name — Tokless — and tap Add.

An icon appears on your home screen. Tapping it opens Tokless with a minimal browser chrome. Downloads still land in Files, as covered in downloading TikTok on iPhone and iPad.

Android Chrome

  1. Open the Tokless homepage in Chrome.
  1. Tap the three-dot menu.
  1. Tap Add to Home screen (some Android builds show Install app — the effect is similar).
  1. Confirm the name and tap Add.

Samsung Internet and Edge

The same pattern works: menu → Add page to → Home screen (Samsung Internet), or menu → Add to phone (Edge). Behavior is close to Chrome. If a browser blocks the download after adding the shortcut, retry in the regular tab — see the browser compatibility notes.

What the shortcut is not

It is not a full progressive web app in every browser. It is not an offline app — it needs the network to resolve TikTok links. It does not grant Tokless permissions that a normal tab would not have.

When to remove it

If you stop using it, long-press the icon and remove it the same way you would any app icon. Nothing is left behind beyond the normal browser cache.
